The ICC Twenty20 World Cup is cricket’s ultimate prize in the fastest growing format of the game.
The 2016 edition was the first to be held in India and involved 16 teams from around the world playing in seven cities across India.
India started as firm favourites to win the tournament but were knocked out in the semi-finals to the West Indies who made the highest ever successful run chase (196) in a knockout match of a World T20 tournament.
The West Indies went on to win the final in dramatic fashion against England. Required to score 19 runs in the final over, Carlos Braithwaite scored four consecutive sixes off the bowling from Ben Stokes to win with just two balls to spare.
STH was appointed by the ICC as official Travel and Tours operator for the ICC World Twenty20 2016 held in India.
We were the sole provider and operator of tour packages for the tournament that spanned seven cities: Bangalore, Dharamsala, Kolkata, Mohali, Mumbai, Nagpur, and New Delhi.
Our role was to appoint an international network of Official Travel Agents around the world to bring cricket fans to the tournament.
