Wales bounce back against Argentina in Cardiff
Wales delivered a strong response to their critics by defeating Las Pumas 20-13 in Cardiff over the weekend. It was a much more solid defensive performance from the Welsh as they showed great determination to overcome what had been a heavy defeat to the All Blacks the previous week, conceding eight tries. Argentina came into the match in high spirits after their upset victory over England the previous week. However, tries from player of the match Taulupe Faletau and Tomos Williams helped seal the win.
It was a great turnaround in just seven days by coach Wayne Pivac, who oversaw what was only his third win of the year. It was a much-needed victory and gives Welsh rugby fans hope going into the upcoming fixtures against Georgia and Australia as well as looking further ahead to Rugby World Cup 2023.
In other matches over the weekend, England produced a resounding performance to thump Japan 25-13. The two previous hosts of Rugby World Cup faced off at Twickenham, with Guy Porter scoring two tries to take the game away from the Japanese. Next week England face New Zealand, who once again showed a dominant performance in the autumn internationals defeating Scotland 31-23 at Murrayfield.
