England and Wales set for Six Nations Battle in Cardiff
After a fortnight’s break the Six Nations is back in full swing as Wales take on England at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. International rugby fans will be anticipating more mouth-watering action with the tournament not having disappointed so far. Wales come into the match after two defeats on the bounce having lost to tournament favourites Ireland and Scotland in their two opening fixtures. England also lost to Scotland in the first round of matches but came back with a resounding victory over Italy last time out.
Anthony Watson will make his first England start for almost two years in Saturday’s match as he replaces the injured Ollie Hassell-Collins on the wing. England will be looking to rebuild momentum with their last remaining Six Nations fixtures arguably their toughest as they face off against France and Ireland. The Wales camp is in a much more fragile place ahead of this Saturday’s showdown with England. Much of the build-up has centred on the damaged relationship between the players and the Welsh Rugby Union, with many players calling for a strike. Shocking news, which has hardly raised Welsh hopes ahead of the game. Wales have brought back several experienced players for the match in Cardiff but may have to rely on home support to give them the edge. Both teams desperately need the victory in what is sure to be a fierce match to remember.
Scotland are looking to continue their unbeaten start to their Six Nations campaign as they come up against France on Sunday. The Scots have been the surprise package in this year’s tournament after brushing aside both England and Wales. They are looking to become winners for the first time since 1999, way back when the tournament was contested between five nations. This will be the 100th time France and Scotland have faced off and will be one of the most important matches for this fixture in recent history as Scotland push for what would be a historic Grand Slam.
With international rugby back in the sporting headlines, attention will soon turn to this year’s Rugby World Cup. Players will be looking to impress as coaches look to make final decisions on their squads ahead of the tournament in France. Anticipation is building in what is sure to be another classic Rugby World Cup to remember.
